In 2009-10, David worked recurring background roles on NBCs’ hit show Trauma as a firefighter that included a cast like Anastasia Griffith, Aimee Garcia, Scottie Thompson, Derek Luke, Cliff Curtis, and Kevin Rankin.

A recurring firefighter acting role on NBC Trauma is a heavy duty actor position wearing heavy protective equipment such as oxygen tanks, oxygen masks, and thick protective clothing.

David Gizzarelli had a recurring role as a San Francisco firefighter on NBC Trauma that included carrying heavy firefighting equipment such as ladders, fire hoses, oxygen tanks, and jumping from big fire trucks.

David Gizzarelli appeared in many episodes working alongside veteran actors such as Kevin Rankin, Cliff Curtis, Derek Luke, Anastasia Griffith, Scottie Thompson, Jamie Sheridan, and Aimee Garcia.

In the “Stuck” episode, David Gizzarelli earned a small speaking role with Kevin Rankin and Derek Luke as they ran into a burning restaurant to save fire victims. “Hey, boys. Over here!”.

Later, acting friends of David Gizzarelli informed him that he may be eligible for an “Upgrade” for his speaking lines with principle actors.

Unfortunately, Len at the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) refused to give David Gizzarelli credit for his speaking role and refused to pay the upgrade which included a “day player” rate. “I found it strange and disappointing”.

NBC Trauma was a very popular show filmed in San Francisco, California. For reasons unknown, the show was cancelled after 1.5 seasons.
