While most young students were playing basket ball, football, and skiing. David Gizzarelli was playing his guitar and writing songs at the young age of 12 years old.

With all the stresses of being a teenager, playing guitar and writing songs was a “great escape” from the day to day hustle and bustle of growing up in a small town like South Lake Tahoe. David Gizzarelli found an avenue to express himself and to keep his mind occupied with more constructive projects.

Here is an early example of David Gizzarelli lyrics:

Hey Mr. Country could you play a tune for me tonight ?
I said a hey Mr. Country could you play a tune for me tonight ?
Yah I got a funny feeling
And lemme tell ya it ain’t right

Yah I got a funny feeling my girl ain’t mine no more
Yah I got a funny feeling my girl ain’t mine no more
She said “Just forget about me”
And walked right out the door

So I say
Hey Mr. Country could you play a tune for me tonight ?
I said a hey Mr. Country could you play a tune for me tonight ?
Yah I got a funny feeling
And lemme tell ya it ain’t right

Well, my pretty little girl she went and broke my heart again
I said my pretty little girl she went .. and broke my heart again
She went and broke my heart
And said .. this is the end.

So I say
Hey Mr. Country could you play a tune for me tonight ?
I said a hey Mr. Country could you play a tune for me tonight ?
Yah I got a funny feeling
And lemme tell ya it ain’t right

(break)

Hey won’t you play that tune that makes you wanna cry ?
Hey won’t you play that tune that makes you wanna cry ?
Hey won’t you play that tune
And bring a tear to my eye

I said
Hey Mr. Country could you play a tune for me tonight ?
I said a hey Mr. Country could you play a tune for me tonight ?
I got a funny feeling
And lemme tell ya something here ain’t right
